Wonder Festival 2009 kicked off in Japan today, and with it comes new home-made Rockman models.
Two Zero series styled Zero models were on display; a
buffed version (pictured) and a
Omega Zero version complete with interchangeable weapons.
There was some classic series love, too. Designer group, Dimension Diver, showed off fully pose-able
Rockman and
Roll kits standing at 11cm in height. Very, very cool.
Unfortunately, these guys aren't for sale, at least not at the moment. Usually, the creators of said models will independently distribute them through auction house services such as Yahoo Auctions Japan, which requires a proxy in order to bid.

To celebrate Capcom's "Arekore" PSP line up, the company released a special UMD containing exclusive trailers for upcoming PSP titles -- presented by none other than Rockman and Rush themselves.
Included on the disc was an obscure promotional video starring animated renditions of Rockman and Rush, chronicling their adventure of "infiltrating" Capcom's Osaka HQ. Along the way, the two would present the viewer with trailers and previews for upcoming titles in the Aerokre line and interviewing the games' developers. Sounds fun, no?
Unfortunately, the feature can only be found on this particular UMD of which only 500 exist. Apparently, the item was an exclusive prize in a special sweepstakes in 2004. Guess that explains why we've yet to seen the promo on the web.
Fortunately, one copy is up for
bidding on Yahoo! Auctions Japan for 5,000 Yen ($50), ending in a day or so. Care to bid?
If you win, be sure to share the video with us!

Aww, that's adorable.
This custom Wonder Festival figure is currently up for
bidding at Yahoo! Auctions Japan. When completed, the figure is equipped with several articulated joints, allowing it to be fully pose-able. As with countless other WF garage kits,
some assembly is required.
The price? Starting bid of 12,800 Yen...or $130-something dollars. Yikes! I guess that's reasonable, considering the fact the model is entirely hand made.
Best of luck.

Currently up for bidding on Yahoo! Auctions Japan is the highly uncommon
Rockman EXE 2 GameBoy Advance Bundle. The set, consists of a "Hikari Labs" branded GBA and a copy of Rockman EXE 2. It's quite the collector's item as it was sold in limited quantities through Ito Yokado stores in Japan.
Currently, the set is priced at 7,250 Yen ($82.00) with two eager bidders. Definitely worth a look if you're interested in sprucing up your EXE collection.

Got a Sega Saturn and $70.00 to blow? The you might want to check the all too uncommon
"special edition" of Rockman X4. This little gem is currently up for grabs on
ebay, complete with the exclusive Ultimate Armor model kit.
Collectors should also be on the lookout for the PlayStation variant of the pack which is even rarer: same package, different system but released in a smaller amount than the SS version. I've yet to see it anywhere beside Yahoo! Auctions Japan, but you never know.

Up for bidding on Yahoo! Auctions Japan is a fairly rare "
Rockman smart card," a promotional item only available to members of U-Capcom for a limited time. That's pretty neat, but what the heck is a "smart card?"
Since the new millennium, Japan has grown accustom to the use of "smart cards," a new method of paying for railway transportation. It's quite simple: your railroad tickets are already prepaid, and with a quick scan, you're on your way to your desired destination. In some cases, the smart card also doubles as a credit card for use in various stores and kiosks.
"Themed" smart cards are nothing new, many cards are adorned with fictional characters such as
Doraemon,
Duke Toga, and in our case, Rockman.
The auction is currently running at 1,100 Yen ($12.00) with two bids (the card originally sold for 500 Yen). In addition to the card, the seller is also included a special message from U-Capcom.

If the past is any indication, e-Capcom will most likely stock a slew of items sold at their WHF booth. In the meantime, you can purchase said items through the wonders of Yahoo! Auctions Japan. Here's a little run through of WHF '09 items currently up for bidding:
Shooting Star Rockman 3 Clear FileCurrent price of 1,000 Yen (1,200 Yen buyout). No bids.
Boss Design Contest FlierCurrently at 800 Yen, no bids

Rock Miyabi of
On-Air forums, has recently compiled a boatload of
Ryuusei no Rockman animation cells for public viewing. The 110 sheets consist of various reference materials such as character designs and weaponry mechanics. The gallery should definetly hold you over until the
Complete Works artbook releases.
Those who crave to obtain their very own animation sheets can find them frequently on
Yahoo! Auctions Japan and more recently,
Ebay. Be prepared to drop quite a bit of cash, these don't come very cheap.
Happy hunting.

Yahoo! Auctions Japan, home of everything a Rockman collector could ever want, is hosting two very interesting auctions that might interest you. A lone individual is auctioning off the
insanely rare Rockman 4 and
Rockman 5 gold cartridges—items issued as prizes for winning Robot Master design contests back in the day.
Only
eight copies of the Rockman 4 cart exist, two of which we know their exact location: one resides in the company of Japanese game store
Super Potato (retailing for $6,000), while the other is said to be in the hands of Bright Man's (RM4) designer. As for the Rockman 5 cartridge, I personally had no idea a gold cart versions even existed, so I guess we can assume eight of those exist as well.
With a starting price of 1,000 Yen each ($11.00) and zero bids, I highly recommend dropping the money on either of the two, but please do take into consideration that these may or may not be legitimate. The starting price alone makes me feel very uncomfortable, almost as if these are intended fakes. Still, there is a strong possibility these are legit and the seller has no real understanding of how much these are worth. I don't know, It's your call.

If there's one thing that Capcom has taught me, it's that they love milking Rockman's likeliness for all its worth; slapping his colorful face on anything and everything. Such is the case with this stylish (and expensive) Rockman cooking apron. Yes, a Rockman cooking apron.
This very obscure item is currently up for
bidding at
Yahoo Auctions Japan for a whopping 10,000 Yen ($115.00)! Why so much? My guess is that this was some sort of under-produced promotional item, maybe something distributed only to Capcom staff?
If I knew how to cook (and had some extra cash lying around), I would so buy this.
