In addition to the new characters, and
online matchmaking, Tatsunoko Vs Capcom: Ultimate
All-Stars also got an in-depth rebalancing. It
ranges over everything, from cleaning up some pesky
infinites, to character buffs, to new launcher
properties, and more.
And in closing, just a random video of some
great LA players (Il.nd and RoyalFlush) going at it on
the arcade Tatsunoko Vs Capcom--the game that started the
wave of excitement that eventually brought us the TvC:
Ultimate All-Stars we'll see soon. <3 OG TvC
too :)
Just
when I think to myself "gee, I already own close to 40
joysticks--maybe I can quit now...," something like this
comes along. The rumors were true, and the fabled Marvel
Vs Capcom 2 stick has arrived.
I
was playing one of these bad boys at the GameStop
managers show, and of course it features all the
top-of-the-line components and construction you've come
to expect from the Tournament Edition line, plus fresh
new art, an extra-tough black case, and deliciously
yellow buttons and stick!
MVC2
was the game you demanded, and this is a stick worthy of
the game. Pick up yours today--I'm guessing
these are also going to be gone pretty
quick.

Currently up for auction on ebay is a rather rare piece of hardware. Behold, a Mega Man 3 "Play Choice" mother board.
The board once belonged to an arcade based version of Mega Man 3 that graced Nintendo's little known Play Choice 10 cabinets in the early 90's. (Read more on that here)
Bidding begins at $4.99 plus an additional $12. Buyer beware, the board is used and untested; might turn out to be something really special or a piece of junk. Also if you do manage to win, make sure you have some sort of arcade cabinet to play the game.
Although
Capcom only appears once on the list (criminal
oversight!), this video was still a fun chance to stroll
down memory lane, since to me Capcom was always the king
of the arcade. They say it was "the company
built 100 yen at a time" (100 yen is like the Japanese
arcade equivalent of a quarter).
Besides the obvious Marvel Vs Capcom 2, what's
your favorite Capcom arcade game that they
missed?I miss Alien Vs Predator, and Dungeons
and Dragons: Shadow Over
Mystara.
PS- After I've
worked here approximately 20 more years, I will have
officially made back the money I gave Capcom in the
arcades as a kid!
PPS- some free
Unity points for anyone that can guess how many of these
arcade games I played competitively :)
One of our designer fans,

SuperMega233 has unearthed footage of Rockman.EXE Battle Chip Stadium, the little known arcade game exclusive to Japan. Released months after EXE 6, the machine acted as an extension of the game, offering players a more advanced battle system rendered in semi-3D. Each cabinet was equipped with a slot to input "Takara Battle Chips" in real-time. In addition, players can also upload their respective Rockman into the cabinet via the abilities of the Beast Link Gate.
The
rumors are true! Capcom is proud to team with GameStop
and the EVO Championship
Series to bring you the Street Fighter IV
National Tournament!
The
tournament unites the biggest retailer and the greatest
tournament legacy with the company that started it all
(that's us!), for the biggest live event in gaming
history.
The action starts on
February 21st at thousands of GameStop
locations EVERYWHERE. Winners move on to the second
round at regional stores (Feb 28th), and second-round
winners advance to the March 14th
semi-finals.
The best-of-the-best
16 finalists will then be flown in for the April 18th
finals in San Francisco, where they'll compete to win an
official Street Fighter IV arcade game. In addition to
the trip to SF (SF in SF... see what I did there?), all
finalists will score Mad
Catz SFIV sticks and pads, the limited edition
tournament belts, and will also earn a spot in the
semi-final bracket at the EVO World
Finals in Las Vegas, where they will take on
the very best from around the planet.
Head over to GameStop.com
for all the details, then run screaming to your
local store to sign up. There are thousands of locations
participating across the country, so figure out where you
need to be come February 21st!
