GamePro's
Dave Rudden had the chance to speak with
Takeuchi-san about Lost Planet 2 and some of the great
new improvements it's bring to players both new and old.
Among the improvements are things like the character
customization, which goes beyond just changing your
appearance. You'll even be able to configure your weapons
in a style that best suits you
individually.
As you've noticed, there's a
ton of great new gameplay elements that help bring the
co-op experience of LP2 to a new level. You'll have to
really work together in news ways and apply real
strategies to the missions in order to
survive.
Catch
the whole interview on GamePro, and get a
deeper look at the improvements like a reward system, new
controls, bigger Akrid, and how co-op applies now to the
VS.
Unity member and Monster
Hunter guru, MoisesL, is
lucky enough to have gotten his hands on the Monster
Hunter 3 (tri) demo. He's gone ahead and recorded a ton
of the sweet new things in the MH world that Tri
introduces. Above is one of two Quests the demo offers.
But check
out this thread for more cool things, including
swimming,
all the gestures,
and one of my favorites, an appearance
of the Rathian!
We went to 1up a few days ago to show
them the new Monster Hunter game coming to the west,
Freedom Unite. Above you can see us pounding the crap out
of one of the easier monsters, the Shogun Ceanataur. The
monsters don't have a health bar like you would see in
most games. Instead, most monsters show damage by their
appearance, like gashes or broken-off horns, etc. The
Shogun Ceanataur in the video has a few things to look
for and aim for while fighting. Like breaking off his
shell on his back, or breaking his claws. There's even
more strategy to doing this as well. If you break off
certain pieces of a monster, you have a better chance of
gaining that item. With the Ceanataur, his claws can be a
rare item, so it's good to take the extra effort in
breaking those off. You can use those claws to make
better armor or weapons.
A slightly more difficult
monster, the Tigrex, can be seen owning us and the 1up crew after the jump.

GameSpot has some brand new
footage of our upcoming PSP title, Monster Hunter Freedom
Unite. These videos really only scratch the surface of
Monster Hunter, as you're going to see mainly just the
combat aspect. Keep in mind too that the weapon you see
is only one type (Long Sword), and that there are other
weapons to be tried, like giant hammers, bows, guns,
lances, gun lances, sword and shields, dual swords, etc.
To top it off, within eachcategoryof
weapon is literally hundreds of different types each
unique in appearance and in
abilities.
Again, this is just barely
describing to you what Monster Hunter has to offer. The
level of customization alone is far beyond what most
portable games offer, heck even beyond most console
games! Check out more videos of monster hunting both 4
player co-op, and single player with the Felyne fighter
after the "more" button. Read more...
The new
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite trailer made an early
appearance in PlayStation Home this week, and now we have
it here on Unity for you to enjoy! As you've heard,
Monster Hunter is a huge phenomenon in Japan,
withliterallyover 8.5 million units
sold through out all the games. Be prepared, because
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is bringing the phenomenon
to the West!
It's no secret that we here at Capcom love us
some Zombies. But with all these games we're releasing
with the mostly slow moving un-dead, it's time we put a
little bit ofeducationalmaterial out
there for you to understand a bit more about the diet of
a Zombie.
First, the food chain.
Zombies are on top, since they'll always eat your brains.
It's just one of the facts of life. We're food for
Zombies, and to a lesser
degreemosquitoes.
To be a healthy Zombie though, you
have to follow the Food Pyramid in order to maintain that
gangly, decaying, and over all "in-shambles" appearance.
Bones are ok, your otherinnardsare
anecessity, but
thetastytreats are your brains. High
inproteintoo!
"Spiral Of Lo" brings us this curious little image from the newly released Ryuusei no Rockman Official Complete Works depicting a strange PET like device. According to the text, the device will make an appearance in a brand new "Rockman story" that will serve as the successor in the EXE/Shooting Star time line. Who didn't see this coming?
Stop by to see the
game in action (it is drop-dead breathtaking (is that a
phrase?) on those crazy PCs) for some hot 8-commando
multiplayer action. We've got a bunch more BC
goodness coming up as well--set expectations to
"ZOMG."
Chris and Kelly
Brown, The Married Gamers, swung by our Capcom Booth at
WonderCon last weekend to play some of our new and
upcoming titles as well as chat with us about them. You
can listen in to Robby talk about one of our new Arcade
titles, Flock. If you don't know what Flock is, give this
a listen. It's something you
shoulddefinitelybe keeping on your
radar. MotoGP on the Wii was also a cool topic discussed,
which I might add is a total blast to play on the Wii
with the motion controls.
I also make a quick appearance talking a bit
about Unity, and why our community and the fans here
rock, and how important fan feedback is to our games.
Start listening in at about 54 mins for Capcom
coverage.
Check out the podcast right
here. This Saturday on their
live show, they'll also be doing some talking about their
Capcom experience at WonderCon, as well as what they
heard at our SFIV Panel. Check that out this Saturday at
1:00pm PST. Here's the link to watch
(it's not active until the show goes live, so bookmark
it).
