Sure
it's October 19, 2009 and Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts was
released almost 18 years ago, but it's never too late for
a review! Besides, it's almost Halloween. Website Lens
of Truth recently decided to review this Capcom
classic, giving it an 8.5 out of 10 in spite of its
insane difficulty level:
Capcom took full
advantage of the Super NES and created the best looking
and sounding Ghouls' N Ghosts game in all the land. There
are shifting landscapes, tidal waves, avalanches, and
enough screen rotation and transparency to keep any 2D
fan happy. Both sections of the Ghost Ship and snow
stages are some of my favorite stages in Super GnG,
though all seven are great.
I do agree with them, however, that it totally
bites that you can't shoot up or down whilst jumping
anymore. It's still a blast (and challenge) to play.
Don't forget that the game is currently available on the
Wii's Virtual Console and the PSP (as part of
Capcom Classics Reloaded, available for download on the
PSN).

The
first reviews are coming in for the PC version of
Resident Evil 5 and IGN
has given it a 9.3 out of 10,
saying:
The PC version of the game still
manages to hold its own with an improved control scheme
and extra Mercenaries mode. While the addition of
costumes is somewhat minor, and you may require a few
upgrades to your computer to take full advantage of what
the game has to offer, you're exploring a great story and
excellent gameplay. Plus, the inclusion of 3D is a
harbinger of what gaming will probably become, and the
effect is extremely nice if you have the opportunity to
take advantage of it.
I've been lucky enough to play the game as well,
and it is gorgeous. I highly recommend checking it out
when it ships out on September 15th.

Turns out that Contra Costa Times writer Gieson
Cacho is a big fan of the Ace Attorney
series. Not only did he get a chance to play Ace Attorney
Investigations during the show, but he also took
advantage of Eshiro-san's appearance at Comic-con to
grill him. Check
out Gieson's reactions to the new game (which we showed
in English for the first time at the Con)
here.
(Note: Doremon is
not actually in Ace Attorney
Investigations, I just couldn't resist using
this image)
After much fanfare
and patient waiting, Bionic
Commando is almost upon us. To celebrate the
release of Nathan "Radd" Spencer's first 3D adventure,
we've teamed up with our buddies at Sony to drop the
price on Bionic Commando: Rearmed on the PlayStation
Network for a limited time. BC:R was one of the top-rated
digitally downloaded games of last year and received
much
love from reviewers around the globe. Now this
gem can live on your North American PlayStation 3 for a
puny $4.99!
Xboxers, don't fret.
The XBLA version of Bionic Commando: Rearmed will also go
on sale on LIVE for 400 starting on May 25. Lucky
Europeans actually get to take advantage of this price
drop today.
You're obligated to
pick this one up in order to experience my
second-favorite Capcom game of all time. Also, if you're
kicking around the idea of getting Bionic Commando when
it releases on Tuesday, May 19, keep in mind that there's
a couple cool things that unlock in the "big" game if you
have the "little" game.

Judd on the awesome PlayStation
blog.

one of the BEST GAMES for
taking advantage of that
WiiMote.
What more could you ask
for?
