UPDATE: Due to technical
difficulties, we will not be simulcasting the marathon.
BUT, please watch theSpeedGamers Resident Evil Marathon
over on their site here
.
TheSpeedGamers' Resident Evil Marathon will be starting soon (details here). A bunch of us Resident Evil fans got together here at Capcom to film short vignettes that will air throughout the marathon and as a teaser, I've included our blooper reel above.
You have been warned.
In celebration of both Halloween and the impending release of Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, this month's Game Club selection is none other than the Resident Evil 1 remake on the Wii (and Gamecube).
Yes, we know, a lot of you are nostalgic for the original version, but we're going to play this version together and talk about our experiences and comparisons to the original.
If you REALLY have to, you can play the original version (which is available on the PSN store), but we highly recommend playing along with either the Gamecube edition or the recently released Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil.
For this first assignment, all you have to do is obtain your copy of the game and play around with it a bit. I won't specify how much to play, but just get acquainted and discuss over the weekend in the fresh forum thread here. We'll reconvene on Monday to discuss!
Above you'll see Jack Krauser (best capcom-related costume wearer and marketing intern Andrew Schnorr) and Up's Russell (funniest costume winner Gerald Hom).
Dark Void environment artist Doug Van Horne is back to talk about the terrifying freedom of trying to create a world where flight combat and cover-based ground combat are seamlessly united. He goes through the five stages of grief to arrive at a... rock?
You'll have to head over to the Dark Void site to see what he's talking about (and here's part 1 if'n you missed it).
Gamasutra has a really interesting roundtable interview up that features the musicians behind Chiptuned Rockman, a compilation of 8-bit remixes from the Mega Man franchise. I've gotten the opportunity to listen to this album and it is an incredible tribute to the 8-bit generation. You can check out our previous coverage here.
Not only do we have TWO Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 vinyls to give away, but we also have brand new art to celebrate the release of the latest MVC2 patch. Feel free to download it and save it as your desktop wallpaper, because we care!
To win one of these shiny vinyls, just let us know who your favorite MVC2 character is and why! We'll randomly select two winners next Wednesday!
Come join us on Puzzle Fighter HD Remix on Xbox Live! Add gamertag Snow Infernus to get an invite. Be sure to check out the live UStream Channel of the matches above, and if you missed it we'll be recording them!
