To bid, you have to be a registered Capcom Unity member and have a sufficient amount of Unity Points (read up on that here.) There's other stuff up for grabs as well, check those out here.
The Unity Auctions are up and live for this

Marvel VS Capcom 2 is
off to a huge start (as you can undoubtedly tell by
perusing the in-game leader boards) and we haven't even
dropped on PS3 yet! On the Twitter feed today (you are
following @Capcom_Unity,
right? Right?) , I noticed a user by the name of
WiredWired asking, "Any way we can get the background of
MvC2 menu (XBLA) as a wallpaper for
360 / PS3 / PC?" There sure is! I hit up Rey J and he
immediately responded with these two images taken from
both the game's Start screen and Menu screen. They're
1980 X 1024 resolution, which is the largest we can get
them out of the game code. Grab the full-sized images
from my Gallery and roll your own PS3 or PC/Mac/whatevs
background.
Marvel Vs Capcom 2 is new on Xbox Live (and soon
PSN), but is a game with a long history. One of
the great things about that history is all the amazing
in-game lingo the hardcore players have developed over
the years, and in particular the East Coast (NYC)
crew.
Perhaps the most
zany and most famous of those terms is "pringles" (e.g.
"oh he's so pringles!"). If you have no idea what I'm
talking about, watch this
famous video (beware some adult
language). It's famous less for the play than
for the infectious stream of Marvel slang that started
players worldwide talking about pringles, curly
mustaches, Haagen Dazs, and, um... the
Knicks.
It was
Michael "IFC Yipes" Mendoza in that video who introduced
the world to the word "Pringles," but just what exactly
does it mean? Comment here and let me know what
you think--winner takes home an actual can of actual
Pringles, signed by the actual Yipes at EVO this year
(where he did a great job on this
year's MVC2 commentary, and also
placed 3rd!)
If you
know the real meaning, great, but something new and even
better than the real thing is eligible to win too--just
make us smile. So... where's yo curly mustaches
at?
Eagerly awaiting the unveiling of new Tatsunoko vs. Capcom characters? Well here's a little something to wet your appetite. In an interview with Siliconera, Ryota Niitsuma, producer of TVC, discussed his intentions of adding at least three to four (maybe more) new playable characters for the North American version:
S: What can you tell us about these new characters? Are they going to be split evenly between the Tatsunoko and Capcom sides?
RN: In the end we want to have a good balance between the Tatsunoko side and the Capcom side, a split down the middle with characters on both sides. We’re still working on which characters to add and ones to put in so I can’t give you any specifics on that.
RN: Right now I’m looking at around three to four, maybe more. Nothing has been finalized yet. We will be making an announcement very soon about how many characters and who they are.
Hopefully, we'll get an announcement or two sooner than later. I've been so patient! Check out the full Ryota Niitsuma here for more NA version details!
Once again, proof
that Japan gets all the cool toys, here's some brand new
custom kits of Mega Man and Roll from Dimension
Driver. They were shown off at Wonder Festival
in Japan, and sold for around $75-125.As far as
Mega Man figures go, these are totally worth it in my
book. Especially for Roll. The picture to the left is
totally how I'd keep them posed on my desk. Now, if I can
just find somewhere that has them...
The PAC is back! This week we'll be jamming out
on Xbox Live in Marvel vs Capcom 2. We'll also be handing
out a couple randomly if you play with us, then message me here
on Unity.
We'll be starting at around
3PM PST under gamertag Snow Infernus. See you guys
online!
During an outing to Goodwill, Mark spotted this Mega Man NT Warrior promotional DVD for $2. The contents of the disc are pretty cool: one whole episode plus a bonus "behind the scenes" featurette, documenting the English voice dubbing process and interviews with voice actors, Alex Doduk (Lan Hikari) and Andrew Francis (Mega Man.EXE). Additionally, there's a few trailers for the then upcoming Mega Man Battle Network 3.
The true origins of the disc are unknown, though I recall a similar disc was given out to those who pre-ordered MMBN3 in 2003. A relation, perhaps?
Regardless, the contents of the disc will be uploaded onto YouTube in the next few days. Nice find, Mark!
In honor of
the recent release after our long, patient wait, it's the
final episode of the Marvel Vs Capcom 2 comic showdown
videos, this time featuring M. Bison and
Magneto.
Magnetism vs
Psycho Power... which is mightier? Play tonight
and find out for yourself (*hint: Magneto > Bison, at
least in MVC2. I still <3
Capcom).
