LittleBigPlanet is one of
those games that's a tool for creatively expressing
yourself, and we've seen a few really cool Capcom
flavored stages from fans. Above is one I just recently
saw in our creative
section, done by Availation. Above is his
level entitled "Proto Man's Rescue." This is a prelude to
his level, "Mega Man's Escape," which you can find in his
blog. Stop over to
hisblogand see the vids,
and if you have a PS3 'n LBP go try out his
stages!
I'm always
looking for the cool stuff you guys do, fan art, cosplay,
music, anything Capcom related. If you have any cool
stuff like that, send it my way via PM. I may even
spotlight you for it. =)

So, here's to 2009; I eagerly look forward to what's to come.
Seth
and I were down in LA a few weeks back for a combination
Spike TV Video Game Awards attendence/G4 appearance trip.
While we were hanging with the fun crew at G4, I noticed
a group of cool robots shoved in a corner. Abbie told me
that they had originally been created for Attack of the
Show, but had been languishing alone and lonely for some
time. In an effort to make the most furious looking of
the robots feel better about himself, I added a jaunty
Street Fighter IV headband to his dome. While
this isn't as cool as giving Bungie's own Master Chief
statue some SFIV color, you have to admit that
it does set off his chasis nicely.
Are you in Vegas on January 9th, 2009?
You should be.
We're
opening the doors to at least 25 of you and a guest
(more, if space allows), so if you'll be in the
neighborhood, drop this guy a note and
come party with Capcom at Planet
Hollywood.
In
addition to thrilling finger food and drinks, we'll be
showing off a brand new Dark Void demo, Street Fighter
IV, Bionic Commando, and you can play Resident Evil 5...
on a seven-story screen. Yes, you read that
right: seven stories high.
As always, if you don't get a confirmation (or
aren't 21), don't just show up--there's a list, and if
you're not on it, scary bouncer types will beat you
within an inch of your life. Well maybe not,
but they won't let you in, which is almost as
bad.
Over
at the mighty Shoryuken,
Azrael
has posted up a nice end-of-2008 translation of the
current Street Fighter IV arcade rankings, and Daigo
is back on top with a VENGANCE:
Hit the jump for the rest
of the top 20 players, but apart from the terrifying
skills on display, what I'm most excited about is the
nice spread of characters on this list. A
fighting game is geared for greatness when, if you got
the skills, you can beat anybody, no matter what the
character matchup might be.
Also, just FYI, the point totals on this list is
truly crazy. From Azrael
himself:
To give you a frame of
reference, anyone in the 20,000's is a solid player at
least - 30-40,000's is good enough to win tournaments and
be the champ of an arcade with good comp, and 50,000 is
enough for most people to say they have one of the best
(insert character here) in the country, excepting the top
20 above of course.

Ars
Technica has an article up about rebooting classic
franchises called "Everything Old Is New Again," and to
no one's surprise, the majority of the article focuses on
Capcom's slew of titles from the past year, including
Bionic Commando: Rearmed, 1942 and Super Street Fighter
II Turbo HD Remix. Ars Technica speaks with Capcom's
creative director Kraig Kujawa (ProTip: the "J" is
silent!) about all the goings-on this past year,
including the thought-process behind picking particular
games and/or franchises, pleasing all you hardk0r3
fanb0is and managing difficulty levels. It's an
interesting read, so
quit dilly-dallying and click on this link,
already.
